About

It was after watching the documentary film made by Nicolas Dattilesi about my musical journey that the idea came to me to compile a selection of tracks from my first 10 albums into a single album. A difficult choice, as I had to select from over 110 compositions and create a cohesive and homogeneous collection that faithfully represents the musical path I’ve taken over the course of more than 20 years.

This was not about simply putting together a collection of pieces, but rather creating a true album, one that makes sense musically and tells a story. With the same concern for coherence, what also guided my choice was to highlight pieces that showcase both the diversity of my compositional work and those that give greater importance to the double bass. In addition to these 12 previously released compositions, I wanted to include an opening piece performed solo on the double bass, En mi barrio, and also create a surprise by adding a previously unreleased song, Camino de Felicidad, performed by my daughter Solea, whose warm and expressive voice fits perfectly with the Latin style of this composition.

Renaud GARCIA-FONS :  5-string double bass, compositions, productions.
