Renaud Garcia-Fons has always seen the double bass as a solo instrument. "I have developed a new language for it," he says. "Using the ragueado, it can sound like a flamenco guitar at one moment, then like a guembri, the Berber bass, or even sound like an oriental or Western violin." Renaud Garcia-Fons is the most astonishing double bassist in the world, known for his virtuosity, his unique bowing sound, and his melodic sense influenced by the Mediterranean.

Entremundo is recorded with a core trio influenced by flamenco. The inspiration is largely Andalusian, but the contribution of musicians from classical or world music brings a range of different colors that reflect Renaud Garcia-Fons' musical vision.
